Brand Ambassadors

Recently, the SA CHEF TRAINING & INNOVATION ACADEMY has also started with a Brand Ambassadors Program that will ultimately benefit the students immensely. Present Chefs signed up for this programme are Chefs Martin Kobald, Michelle de Silva, and Trevor and Dilene Boyd.

Why are we doing this?

• Exports the SA CHEF TRAINING & INNOVATION ACADEMY brand on a national and international level
• Provide integrity to the SA CHEF TRAINING & INNOVATION ACADEMY brand
• Makes SA CHEF TRAINING & INNOVATION ACADEMY more visible on the right platforms
• SA CHEF TRAINING & INNOVATION ACADEMY gains access via the ambassadors to their area of influence, nationally, and internationally
• The right people gets the right message and exposure to our brand
• It’s the first step in our “National Mentorship Program”

Martin Kobald “Chef MLK”

Martin Kobald, Austrian-born chef extraordinaire; began his culinary career in his home country, after completing his training with outstanding achievement.

Kobald honed and developed his food and beverage skills as he worked his way up from Trainee Chef to Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and finally, head of operations of various Austrian hotels and restaurants. 

Michelle de Silva

Michelle Da Silva born in South Africa yet of Portuguese decent from the gorgeous island of Madeira.

Bought up in a typical Portuguese family, where eating is of equal importance to breathing, this grew a great interest in the culinary world from a young age.

Michelle joined the International Hotel School where she completed her 3 year programme in Professional cookery and kitchen management, while training at Emperors Palace in the 5 star hotels, food and beverage department as well as casino.

Trevor and Dilene Boyd

Both Chefs Dilene & Trevor Boyd have a proven record of accomplishment of culinary excellence with many accolades and achievements collected during their illustrious careers, in addition to working at some of the most renowned and auspicious hotels and restaurants in SA.

Both were long-time members of Culinary Team SA, winning several medals, including Gold, in the various international competitions in which they participated, amongst them the Culinary Olympics held in Erfurt, Germany in 2003 and 2008.
