OPTION 1 - Commis de Culinaire (Certificate)

This 6-month programme teaches the learner the fundamentals of cooking and the food service industry to successfully enter the industry as an entry-level commis chef (apprentice chef).
All learners will complete 2 months actual industry time at one of SA CHEFS TRAINING & INNOVATION ACADEMY’s quality approved industry partners to hone their culinary skills and also to adapt and accustom themselves to the chef’s lifestyle, both of which are essential to ensure the learner’s longevity in the industry and to prepare him/herself best for future employment. These phases are referred to as Experiential Industry Placements, or EIP’s.
On successful completion of this programme, learners will have the option to progress directly onto the second year, Grande de Culinaire
- Basic First Aid, Level 1
- Basic Fire Fighting Certificate
- SA CHEFS TRAINING AND INNOVATION ACADEMY Certification: Commis de Culinaire
- City & Guilds Certificate in Culinary Arts (Theory and Practical)
- Conduct Outcome Based Assessment, Attendance Certificate (Assessors Training)
